Relaxed Autumnal Foodie Fun Country Wedding

Relaxed Autumnal Foodie Fun Country Wedding

Ready for the seriously beautiful Stennack Farm wedding of WWW followers Mollie and Sophie? It’s filled to the brim with love, fun and so many thoughtful touches.

They were wed in the Cornwall countryside, near to the beach where they had the most amazing seaside portraits. Then there were the gorgeous dried flowers, the autumnal colour scheme and the stylish attire.

Their wedding menu sounded epic too, with pizza, burgers, doughnuts, sweets, a dessert table and sausage rolls for guests. Yum!

Thanks ever so much to Hannah Barnes Photography for sharing with us these fantastic shots of such a love-filled day.

Mollie On WWW

I (Mollie) am a follower of WWW and have used lots of the weddings as inspiration. As a wedding photographer also, I have had a wedding featured so I absolutely love the vibes of WWW. It allowed me to see similarities of the vision I had in my head to help me style our wedding and read about other couples experiences.

Stennack Farm Wedding

The Proposal

Sophie proposed down by the sea near Pedngwinian Point in Cornwall. I thought we were heading down to the beach on a sunny evening after a not-so-great day, however, Sophie had other ideas.

We decided to stop just before we got to Gunwalloe, the beach I thought we were going to, and instead, we went for a walk along the cliff where we had an amazing view of the Cornish coastline. After walking for a little bit I realised Sophie wasn’t right behind me and in fact she had stopped and got down on one knee and of course I said yes and we watched the sun go down as we rang our families to tell them the amazing news!

The Vision

We are both big country music fans so we knew we wanted something along the country theme and we wanted as much outdoors as we could. We also knew that our two dogs Erni (Frenchie) and Sancho (Boxer) would have to play a massive part!

I always knew I wanted the terracotta colour to be a feature and I loved the look of dried flowers! Other than that we just kind of went with the flow!

Budget

We didn’t really have much of a budget in mind but we came to the conclusion that we didn’t want to spend much more than £10,000. We overspent by £600 but after a few additions of crazy golf and sausage rolls, we knew it was money well spent.

The Venue

We first viewed Stennack Farm in 2020 when it had just been built. The electrics weren’t in and the floor hadn’t gone down yet but we just knew it was where we wanted to get married. The barn look was exactly what we wanted and the outside was perfect for our vision of everyone relaxing with a few drinks.

It was also only a short drive to the beach which we knew was a deal breaker as that’s where we wanted to have our couple photos.

Your Outfits

My wedding dress was from Wed2B. When my mum, sister and I went wedding dress shopping I had a very clear idea of what I wanted in my head (it isn’t what I ended up with). As we walked past the window and into the shop, my sister saw a dress in the window and said I had to try it on, even though it wasn’t the style I wanted.

Reluctantly I asked if the dress from the window could be added to the 4 other dresses I had chosen to try on. I tried the window dress on first and I knew instantly that it was the one for me – I didn’t want to take it off!

I also wore white vans with a pride rainbow on the sole. I knew I wanted to be comfy and these were perfect!

For my jewellery, my mum handmade me some earrings using the pearls and crystals from her veil when she got married 26 years ago. I also had a bangle made locally in Cornwall that also had a pearl and crystal from my mum’s veil.

Sophie knew that she wanted to be comfortable but didn’t like the suit or dress traditions. So instead she paired some black trousers with a black t-shirt and wore a Ralph Lauren jacket over the top.

She wore black Nike slip ons which are her all-time favourite shoe with some personalised socks with mine and the dog’s faces on.

I was all in white and Sophie was all in black.

We decided to wear the same perfume so that we both had a bit of each other with us all day even if we were both in different areas. We wore Valentino Voce Viva

The Ceremony & Music

After a forecast of rain, we had to change our original plan of getting married outside on the grass to getting married inside.  On the day of our wedding, the forecast completely changed and the sun stayed out all day so we kept with our indoor ceremony but opened the double French doors and brought the outside in!

We had 2 readings in our ceremony from our niece and my sister which were the perfect personal touches we wanted.

We had 3 important songs that we wanted to incorporate into our ceremony:

Walking down the aisle: Yours – Russel Dickerson
Signing the register: Beautiful Crazy – Luke Combs
Walking out married: Home Sweet – Russel Dickerson

Russel Dickerson and Luke Combs were two of the first country singers that Sophie introduced to me when we first met.

Your Photographer & Filmmaker

We knew we wanted Hannah from the start for our photography. Her style is amazing and as soon as we had a call with her she matched our vibe perfectly and we knew she would fit in and be chilled just like us! She was amazing and let us be as crazy as we wanted to be! She captured every detail perfectly and we had the best time ever – she was just like a best friend to us both!

I actually met our videographers at a wedding I was photographing early in 2022! They had never been to Cornwall and after describing how our wedding was going to be full of pizza, burgers and cake they were fully on board!

We couldn’t have asked for 2 people to bring more energy to our wedding day. Katie and Josh brought energy and laughter and got all our guests involved! We now have the most emotional and hilarious wedding videos ever!!

The Styling & Decor

80% of our decorations were handmade by ourselves and my family! We were also very lucky to have been given a lot of greenery and petals from a wedding I photographed 6 months beforehand that we dried to decorate our venue.

We incorporated the LGBTQ+ theme into our day with lettered bunting and rainbow cowboy hats.

Our flowers were all dried and followed the terracotta theme. Sophie had a dried red rose in her buttonhole to represent her best friend that passed away which was a lush way to include her in our wedding day.

Rather than one cake we decided to have a cake/dessert table. We decided on a hers and hers theme of brownies, flap jacks, cupcakes and rocky road. All of our absolute favourites! With a whole table full of our favourite sweet snacks as well as a sweet table and doughnut stand we knew the sweet tooth part was covered for the day!

We are massive foodies so along with the sweet area we made sure our guests were completely full as we had sausage rolls and cider after our ceremony, pizza for our wedding meal and a burger van for the evening!

The Honeymoon

In hindsight, going on a honeymoon the day after your wedding is perhaps not the best idea for stress levels. However, we headed to Trefriw, North Wales with the dogs for a week of peace, hot tubs and dog walks.

We stayed in an amazing cottage overlooking the town of Llanrwst with a wood-fired hot tub and the most amazing log burner that kept us warm in the chilly Welsh weather!

Memorable Moments

Two of our most memorable moments are watching our two boys looking up at us during the ceremony being the best dogs ever!

As well as going to the beach, running through the sea and just having the best time together!

Advice For Other Couples

It’s YOUR day! Make sure you do everything that you want and make sure your guests come away knowing that every part of the day summed you two up! The more personal it is the more fun everyone has!!

Also, throw caution to the wind and go crazy! Run through the sea, dance in the rain. Do whatever it takes to have fun. You’ll never get these moments back so don’t worry about the weather or the mud just get out there and enjoy it!!

Oh so beautiful!

Mollie and Sophie, I can’t thank you enough for sharing your amazing Stennack Farm wedding story with us.
