Romantic coastal North Carolina wedding at The Currituck Club

Anyone here dreaming of a romantic coastal wedding? Bronte and Scott tied the knot along the Outer Banks of North Carolina, but their neutral palette and sweet, beachy details could inspire a romantic wedding no matter where you plan to say I Do. They kept the design simple with a focus on bringing their families together (how sweet is this moment with their daughter?),  which made for a beautiful, intimate celebration along the coast. Thanks to our new vendor guide member Kasey Powell Weddings for sharing the photos below!

Bride Bronte explains, One of my most treasured memories from our day is the time I spent getting ready before the ceremony. Getting dressed with my bridesmaids, mother and daughter was so surreal. One of my favorite moments Kasey Powell Photography captured is the iconic side-by-side photo of me and my daughter’s dresses. My daughter’s dress came from a little town outside of Naples, Italy where my mother was born. Even though the dress was still big on her, there was no doubt in my mind that she had to wear it. It was such a unique and special way to honor my mother.

They incorporated family history into their day: Bronte’s family owns a 100-year-old farmhouse off the Eastern Shores of Virginia, and they incorporated two doors from that home in their wedding ceremony for guests to step through as they took their seats. Bunches of wind-swept pampas grass and an arbor made of driftwood contributed to the coastal wedding vibe.

So many sweet moments with their families here!

For their reception at The Black Stallion, they put together a curved, nearly quarter-mile long family style table sprinkled with open flame candles, oyster shells and Italian-style travertine tile. And a fun idea for those of you planning a coastal wedding: “message in a bottle” style notes in lieu of a guest book!

Scott and I always knew that when the time came for our wedding, we wanted to bring our families together for more than just one day. We decided to rent a huge house to share with both of our families for the week leading up to the wedding. I’ve often heard newlyweds say that your wedding day is over in the blink of an eye, so I wanted to ensure that we were able to take our time and savor every moment. Having the closest people in our lives celebrating alongside us for that week of festivities is something I will cherish forever.

A neutral color palette is so beautiful against a coastal backdrop, don’t you think?

Lastly, a little advice from our bride… When it comes to vendors—do your research! We loved every single vendor that we worked with and I truly believe that is because we took our time finding the right fit. It was important to us that we found people that shared our vision, and that made the world of a difference when the moving pieces came together on our wedding day.
